Who Can Register
A parent or responsible party must register for their participant. For purposes of CCSC membership the responsible party must meet the following qualifications (whenever you see “parent” on the CCSC website, you can assume “responsible party”):
Be able to respond to emergencies and provide medical insurance information, as well as contact information, and a variety of other data. Much of this data is a requirement of grant and other funding processes. Identifying information is removed: only aggregate data is used
Provide payment
Be able to ensure prompt check-in and pick-up with with the program director or coach at the designated location and time.
Registration Process
Nordic Rocks registration takes place through participating school systems. All other program registration takes place through SkiReg, an event management system of Outside.
The first time you register for an event or membership with CCSC, you are prompted to register with an Outside account or to continue as a guest. Please register with an Outside Account (rather than Guest). You can find instructions for creating an account at this SkiReg Knowledge Base entry. This initial account must be created for the responsible party. Once you have an account, you can add your participant to that account with the “Manage Additional Participants” feature. Now you’re all set to follow our links to the CCSC membership or event registration.
Demographic Data Collected with Registration
In order to keep our costs as low as possible, more than 70% of our operating budget is covered through foundation support and individual donations. Because of this, we are asking for gender, ethnicity, and financial household information as a requirement for receiving grants. Protecting the privacy of program participants is our priority. Any information we share with grant-making organizations is de-identified and aggregated. Thank you for your patience in completing these questions.
Transportation Needs
If you’re in the Benzie County area and having difficulty with your transportation needs, check out the Benzie Bus as an option.

Ski Equipment and Clothing
Don’t be intimidated by equipment needs to participate in our ski programs. We’re here to help! add Hunter The following lists detail our required and recommended equipment and clothing for our winter programs. Additional and specialized equipment based on your chosen program may be required. If you would like to participate but don’t have appropriate clothing, we can help.
You can always turn to Mountain Sports at Crystal Mountain for your equipment and clothing needs when they aren’t provided with your program.
Nordic
The Nordic Library provides skis, poles, and boots for anyone participating in any Nordic program at no cost. XC race suits are also available.

Top: athletic long-sleeve shirt with a vest or lightweight jacket, depending on temperature
Light weight gloves, a warm hat or headband, and one pair of thin but warm socks
Sunscreen and sunglasses for sunny days
Alpine

Winter coat
Skis or snowboard
Ski or snowboard boots
